Operation Christmas Child

This was also really well supported. After our initial disappointment of a mere 12 boxes appearing, another 225 dropped into my office, making a wonderful total of 237 in all.

My thanks go to all the children and parents for your generosity and to the Year 6 girls who collected, stacked and counted them all (Beth, Zoe, Melissa, Ash(er)leigh, Sarah, Amy, Jenny, Olivia, Kathryn, Alex and Eve)

Blue Peter Shoe Appeal

What a super day we had last Friday, dressed up in our Christmas best and making Christmas Arts and Crafts. Christmas music played and everyone had a great time.

This Wednesday the staff spent a lot of time getting the school decorated with the results of the Christmas Arts and Crafts Day so that when our Breakfast With Santa Morning and the Infant Nativity takes place the school will be dressed appropriately.

Thank you, as well, for supporting our Blue Peter ‘Shoebiz’ Appeal. They came in by the ton and we ended up with over seven hundred pairs of shoes to send off.

Well done to everyone concerned.

Children In Need

Four very enthusiastic young ladies from Year 3 trapped me in my study the day before ‘Children In Need’ was to take place and asked if they could raise some money for that particular charity.

It was too late to organise anything very big so I suggested they sell things (they’d brought Christmas Cards and cakes) to the school staff.

So the next day (the actual ‘Children In Need’ Day) our four Year 3 girls turned up with cakes and Christmas Cards and, during the morning break, descended upon an unwitting staff with the happy determination of a bunch of Santa’s Elves (but without the pointy ears!).

Within the space of approximately 30 minutes they’d divested the staff of £40 of their hard-earned cash all of which was subsequently banked by Holly’s mum and transferred to the ‘Children in Need’ Appeal.

So well done to the four girls, Holly, plus 2, 3, and 4 for their efforts and also to the staff of the school for their generosity and joining in with the spirit of the occasion.
